The Intermediate first year results will be announced on Monday. The Board of Intermediate Education said that results of candidates who appeared for the first year Intermediate Public Examinations for general & vocational courses will be declared at 3 pm at Nampally.

"The results with marks/grades will also be made available online and on phone for the convenience of the students, parents and general public," the board said. Results will be available on government-run websites like http://results.cgg.gov.in. హ్యూమన్ కంప్యూటర్ శకుంతలాదేవికి గూగుల్ నివాళి

హ్యూమన్ కంప్యూటర్‌గా పేరుపొందిన ప్రముఖ గణిత మేధావి శకుంతలా దేవి 84వ జయంతి సందర్భంగా ప్రముఖ సెర్చ్ ఇంజన్ గూగుల్ ఆమెకు ఘనంగా నివాళులు అర్పించింది. సెర్చ్ పేజీలో ఆమె బొమ్మతో కూడిన ప్రత్యేక డూడుల్‌ను ఉంచింది. డిజిటల్ అంకెల రూపంలో గూగుల్ అక్షరాలను రూపొందించి, వాటి పక్కన శకుంతలా దేవి బొమ్మ, ఎస్ డి అనే అక్షరాలతో డూడుల్‌ను తయారు చేసింది. ఆమె నవ్వుతున్నట్లుగా ఉన్న చిత్రాన్ని ఉంచింది. శకుంతలా దేవిని అందరూ హ్యూమన్ కంప్యూటర్ అంటారు. ఆమె లెక్కల్లో ఎన్నోసార్లు కంప్యూటర్ కంటే ఫాస్ట్‌గా చేశారు.

కాగా, హ్యూమన్ కంప్యూటర్‌గా పేరొందిన శకుంతలా దేవి 21 ఏప్రిల్ 213న కన్నుమూశారు. కొన్నాళ్లుగా శ్వాసకోశ సంబంధ సమస్యలతో ఇబ్బంది పడుతున్న శకుంతలా దేవి చికిత్స కోసం ఓ ఆసుపత్రిలో చేరారు. గుండెపోటు రావడంతో మృతి చెందారు. ఏప్రిల్ 21న ఉదయం 8:15 గంటలకు ఆమె తుదిశ్వాస విడిచారని ఎడ్యుకేషనల్ ఫౌండేషన్ పబ్లిక్ ట్రస్ట్ ట్రస్టీ డిసి శివదేవ్ తెలిపారు. శకుంతలాదేవికి ఒక కుమార్తె ఉన్నారు. ఆమె 1929 నవంబర్ 4న సంప్రదాయ కన్నడ బ్రాహ్మణ కుటుంబంలో బెంగళూరులో జన్మించారు. ఆమె తండ్రి సర్కస్‌లో పని చేసేవారు. మూడేళ్ల వయసులోనే పేకలతో ట్రిక్కులు చేయడంలో శకుంతల ప్రతిభను ఆయన గుర్తించారు. ఎంత ప్రతిభ ఉన్నా.. పేదరికం కారణంగా ఆమె చదువుకోలేకపోయారు. తల్లిదండ్రులు ఆమెను ఒకటో తరగతిలో చేర్చినప్పటికీ.. నెలకు రూ.2 ఫీజు కట్టలేక మధ్యలోనే బడి మాన్పించేశారు. అయితే, ఆమె ప్రతిభ గురించి అన్ని దిక్కులా వ్యాపించింది. ఆరేళ్లప్పుడు యూనివర్సిటీ ఆఫ్ మైసూర్‌లో, ఎనిమిదేళ్ల వయసులో అన్నామలై వర్సిటీలో.. గణితంలో తనకున్న ప్రావీణ్యాన్ని ఆమె బహిరంగంగా ప్రదర్శించారు. 1977లో 201 అంకెలున్న సంఖ్యకు 23వ వర్గాన్ని ఆమె తన మనసులోనే గుణించి 50 సెకన్లలో సమాధానం చెప్పి ప్రపంచం దృష్టిని ఆకర్షించారు. ఆమె చెప్పిన సమాధానాన్ని ద్రువీకరించుకోవడానికి శాస్త్రజ్ఞులు ఆ అంకెను వేగవంతమైన యూనివాక్ 1108 కంప్యూటర్‌కు ఫీడ్ చేయగా.. ఇదే సమస్యను పరిష్కరించడానికి దానికి ఒక నిమిషంపైగానే సమయం పట్టింది. అలాగే, 1980 జూన్ 18న.. ఇంపీరియల్ కాలేజ్, లండన్ కంప్యూటర్ విభాగం వారు ఆమెకు ఒక పరీక్ష పెట్టారు. కంప్యూటర్ అప్పటికప్పుడు ఇచ్చిన రెండు పదమూడు అంకెల సంఖ్యలను గుణించి ఫలితం చెప్పమన్నారు. ఆ ప్రశ్నకు ఆమె సరిగ్గా 28 సెకన్లలో సమాధానం చెప్పి వారిని ఆశ్చర్యానికి గురిచేశారు. గత శతాబ్దిలో ఏ ఏడాదిలో ఏ నెలలో ఏ తేదీన ఏ వారం వచ్చిందో.. నిద్రలో లేపి అడిగినా ఠక్కున చెప్పే మేధస్సు ఆమె సొంతం. అంతేకాదు, ఆమె రచయిత్రి కూడా. గణితం, జ్యోతిషాలను అంశాలుగా తీసుకుని.. ఫన్ విత్ నంబర్స్, ఆస్ట్రాలజీ ఫర్ యు, పజిల్స్ టు పజిల్ యు, మాథబ్లిట్, ఎవేకెన్ ద జీనియస్ ఇన్ యువర్ చైల్డ్, ఇన్ ద వండర్‌లాండ్ ఆఫ్ నంబర్స్ వంటి పుస్తకాలు రాశారు. అత్యుత్తమ, నాణ్యమైన వార్తలను అందిస్తున్న వన్ఇండియా... ఇప్పుడు మీకోసం ఫేస్‌బుక్, ట్విట్టర్‌ ల ద్వారా మరిన్ని అప్‌డేట్స్

The truth about tuberculosis

Much has been said and shown about tuberculosis (TB) with several films having shown people constantly coughing and being diagnosed with the condition. It is preventable and treatable, yet the condition of tuberculosis ( TB) continues to be a major health threat, because of growing drug resistance and spiralling costs of treatment. That apart, fears and stigmas around the condition are abound. The TB scenario has only left doctors perplexed. "India is a heavy TB burden country. In urban settings , the problem is more severe compared to rural settings as the rate of transmission is higher due to overcrowded spaces. Patients from lower socio- economic status cannot afford diagnostic tests and anti- tubercular drugs, thus are diagnosed later and continue to spread the disease. Also, improper medication (irregularities in taking medicines by the patients or incorrect treatment regimen by private medical practitioners), leads to emergence of drug- resistant TB strains. Thus, worseningthe situation," says Dr BR Das, president, research and innovation, SRL Diagnostics. Drug resistance: major threat Rising drug incidence happens to be the biggest threat to TB control and cure. Drug resistant TB happens when the bacteria develops resistance to the most commonly used drugs in the first line of treatment regimen, leading to multidrug- resistant TB ( MDR- TB) and in extreme cases, extensively drug resistant TB ( XDR TB), where the bacteria fail to respond to even second line drugs," says Dr Chandan Kedawat, internal medicine specialist, PSRI Hospital. The other problem is that of patients not sticking to their drug regimen. " They end up discontinuing it because they feel better within a few weeks whereas the medicines should be taken for six months," points out Dr Kedawat. Poor drug regulation TB control has also become a challenge because of poor drug regulation and spiralling treatment costs. " Poor drug regulation has fuelled drug resistant TB, along with lack of discipline when it comes to TB regimen. There is no accountability, when it comes to adhering to proper diagnostic and treatment rules," says Dr Swati Sharma, New Delhi based internal medicine specialist. According to experts, lack of drug regulation has made even basic treatment of drug- sensitive TB difficult to monitor. " There are so many different formulations of TB drugs sold across and absolutely no monitoring," adds Dr Sharma. Irrational prescription and indiscriminate use of non- WHO recommended drug regimens has become a huge problem. " It is the patients who suffer the consequences of poor regulation of TB drug formulations in India. An increasing number of our patients are being diagnosed with drug resistant TB ( DR- TB). We encounter a spectrum of resistance patterns which range from mono- drugresistant TB all the way through to extensively drug- resistant TB ( XDR TB)," says Dr Simon Janes, medical coordinator, Médecins Sans Frontières ( MSF) India. Hence other diagnostic tests need to be performed to consider initiating antitubercular treatment. There are also other conditions, symptoms of which are familiar to TB. " Conditions like amyloidosis and sarcoidosis, have symptoms similar to TB too. And often it is too before the correct diagnosis happens," says Dr Kedawat. Say TB, and the first thing that might strike you is a cloudy chest X- ray. But there are several other forms of TB which affect other organs of the body like that of skin, intenstinal, lymph nodemusculoskeletal, central nervous system, gastrointestinal, skin, pericardial, among others. Way forward Apart from systemic policy changes, there is much that can be achieved by individual efforts, which are as simple as sticking to your medicine regimen beginning with the first line of treatment. " It is important to follow proper guidelines, avoid using anti TB medication for any other purpose other then TB, stick to total duration of care as treatment being of longer duration there is the tendency to default which leads to treatment failure and building up of resistance," says Dr Mansoor. While most of us are exposed to TB during our lifetime, those with low immunity are more likely to contract it. So one of the ways to keep it off you and combat this condition when it strikes, is to build your immunity; gradually and naturally. 

Dance of health

Ever had hormones like oxytocin, glucagon or thyroid strike a mudra and introduce themselves to you? Or have someone represent the rhythm and balance that different organs and hormones strike in order to keep you going like a well-oiled machine? Just one misstep or imbalance could cause this machine to come to a crashing halt. This is exactly what Dr Jayanthy Ramesh tried to present through his Kuchipudi dance ballet on the eve of World Health Day. Organised by Sai Institute of Endrocrinology in association with Cisne for Arts, this dance ballet presented various health issues in a creative manner. The blend of medical science and Kuchipudi dance was conceptualised and scripted by Dr Jayanthy Ramesh, a practising endocrinologist. "Though it is a Kuchipudi dance ballet, it was a way to express the importance of hormones in the body, lifestyle ailments and create awareness about health issues. I basically wanted to use a platform to drive home the point to the common man in a language understands," he says, adding , "Each hormone has a specific action and there is pulse style release, rhythmic action, amplitude, target action etc. Endocrinology is a dynamic equilibrium. Dance too has similar factors - pace, rhythm, action. That is why we thought of blending the two." The entire dance ballet was choreographed by Kuchipudi exponent Bhagavathula Sethuram, who also heads the department of dance at Telugu University. "I've been training under Guruji for some time now and after I penned the script he choreographed the ballet. This was no mean feat given that he had to express various hormones, their functions and lifestyle ailments through dance. I don't think anyone else could have choreographed the ballet as beautifully as he has," says the doctor, who also performed a portion of the ballet. Thirteen of Sethuram's students also performed the ballet. Vocal support was lent by Mantha Srinivas, a software employee. The ballet, which began with an ode to India, a country of cultural and religious diversity, soon progressed to introducing the various hormones in the human body and their importance before moving on to throw light upon the various lifestyle ailments like obesity, diabetes and cardiac issues that plague young Indians. "We as a nation are genetically predisposed to diabetes and heart ailment. But our current lifestyle habits that involve barely any exercise and changing dietary habits are only worsening the situation and are responsible for even youngsters falling prey to dreaded diseases. Through my dance I wanted to highlight these issues and create awareness among the general public on the importance of staying fit," says Dr Ramesh, who often has youngsters walking into his clinic with such ailments. Dr Ramesh, who first performed this ballet in February for an international medical conference, improvised upon the script for his recent performance. The medical practitioner who is also interested in poetry and creative arts says that penning the script happened in bursts. "Inspiration can strike any time. So I didn't write the entire script in one go. Lines would come to me while I'd interact with patients or when watching a music performance. I would make notes on my smartphone and then put it all together later. While I wrote the script in Telugu, my wife Dr. Srivalli translated it into English to cater to a wider audience," he says. Incidentally, the performance included various audio-visual elements in the backdrop to heighten the entire experience. Interestingly, Dr Ramesh is not a trained dancer. "I learnt dance for a couple of years before I joined medical school out of pure interest. But with medical school and subsequent practice, dance took a back seat. I've attempted this performance after a gap of nearly 25 years," he grins.

Winning combination

The demand for management education in India is much larger than that of any other country including the U.S. By most estimates, about 2,50,000 Indians are seeking MBA degrees every year. It is no surprise that several schools have been started in the last six years to offer management education. Till 2001, Indian institutes offered only a two-year programme in management. The Indian School of Business that opened its doors in 2001 offered a one-year programme in management. This programme targeted experienced professionals who did not have a management background, and successfully delivered to them. Since then, several institutes have started offering the one-year PGDM. Part-time programme The part-time programme is offered to people who want to be in their jobs but still want to educate themselves. Traditionally, this segment offered the programme in the evenings. But given the fact that the bulk of the demand for this programme comes from people working in the IT industry and who start their work only by 6 p.m. in line with the U.S. time zone, the part-time programme could not be offered in the evenings, but over the weekend. The distance mode of delivery of the programme also catered to this group. The distance delivery mode comprised correspondence courses, online delivery using technology platforms such as the VSAT-based one-way delivery of audio, video conference based multi-way delivery in synchronous mode. Internet-based asynchronous programme delivery is another method. More recently, given the introduction of MOOCs (massive online open courses) by several reputed B schools in the U.S., some providers of online technology platforms are partnering with Indian schools to attempt such an online programme. Most of these programme providers, while focusing on the process and delivery, overlook the real need of the students which is to acquire well-paying jobs at the end of the programme. Since such job placements are not delivered, several business schools in India are finding it difficult to recruit students. Students are not willing to pay a high fee which is out of sync with the starting salaries that are offered to students graduating from those institutes. Students look for a 1:1 match between the fees of the programme and the starting salary. If an institute charges Rs. 6 lakh as the fee for the programme, students expect a starting salary ranging from Rs.5.5 lakh to Rs.6.5 lakh. Herein lies the issue, since most companies do not offer such starting salaries for entry-level managers. There is scope for offering a programme for inexperienced students which combines work and study in such a way that companies are also involved. Such a programme can combine the strengths of both modes of delivery - online and live classes. A programme that requires students to work as interns in companies during the weekdays and be in the class on weekends is an ideal one for inexperienced students. If companies can be co-opted into this programme by B schools so that they provide the internship opportunity to these students while also offering an opportunity to be considered for a job, the programme gains strength. Students can then get a better compensation upon graduation so that they would have had two years of experience. Companies would get to evaluate the candidates deeply before they offer them jobs. The online technology will help in keeping the students connected to the professors and other students during the week while the course is delivered live during weekends. This requires a close cooperation between the institutes and the companies. Either one or both can take the initiative in designing such a programme. This follows the success of the internship-based study-abroad programme that we organise for students from U.S. universities. We believe that a good quality programme with qualified professors can be delivered with the active cooperation of a few companies that see value in such a proposition. ఉద్యోగాన్ని ఆశిస్తూ నియామక సంస్థలకు పంపే రెజ్యూమ్ అభ్యర్థుల సమగ్ర వివరాలు తెలిపే దర్పణం వంటిది. దీని ప్రాధాన్యత దృష్ట్యా పొరపాట్లకు ఆస్కారం లేకుండా రెజ్యూమ్ రూపొందించుకుంటే ఉద్యోగసాధనలో సగం విజయం సాధించినట్లే. సాధారణంగా రెజ్యూమ్ రూపకల్పనలో అభ్యర్థులు చేసే ఐదు పొరపాట్లు అవి అధిగమించే విధానాలపై గైడెన్స్.ఫ స్ట్ ఇంప్రెషన్ ఈజ్ ది బెస్ట్ ఇంప్రెషన్' అనే నానుడి అన్ని సందర్భాలతో పాటు ఉద్యోగ ప్రయత్నాలు చేసే ఉద్యోగార్థులకూ మరింత బాగా వర్తిస్తుంది. ఉద్యోగ ప్రయత్నంలో భాగంగా అభ్యర్థులు 'రెజ్యుమ్' తయారు చేసి సంస్థలకు పంపుతుంటారు. ఈ క్రమంలో మీకూ మీరు ఉద్యోగ ప్రయత్నం చేసే సంస్థకు మధ్య వారధి మీరు తయారు చేసి పంపే ఈ రెజ్యుమ్. ఇది మీ గురించి పూర్తి సమాచారాన్ని క్లుప్తంగా, అవసరం మేరకు తెలియజెప్పే ఒక సాధనం. ఇందులో మీరు పొందుపరచిన సమాచారం చూశాక ప్రాథమికంగా మీరు సంస్థకు ఉపయోగపడతారా! లేదా! అన్న విషయాలను బేరీజు వేసుకుని మిమ్మల్ని ఇంటర్వ్యూకు పిలవాలా లేక మీ అప్లికేషన్‌ను 'రిజక్ట్' చేయాలా అన్న నిర్ణయం తీసుకుంటారుపస్తుతం ఉద్యోగావకాశాల కన్నా ఉద్యోగార్దుల సంఖ్య చాలా ఎక్కువగా ఉంటున్నది. అలాంటపుడు మీ అప్లికేషన్‌లో ఎలాంటి లొసుగులున్నా దాన్ని తిరస్కరించే అవకాశాలు ఎక్కువగా ఉంటాయి.మరో పార్శ్యంలో చూస్తే మీతో పాటు ఎన్నో వందల మంది అభ్యర్థులు 'రెజ్యుమ్'లు పంపి ఉంటారు కనుక మీ రెజ్యుమ్‌లో చిన్న చిన్న లోపాలు కూడా కనిపెట్టి మరీ అప్లికేషన్‌లను తిరస్కరించే అవకాశాలు ఎక్కువగా ఉంటాయి. మీరు వ్యకిగతంగా సంస్థ అధికారుల ముందు హాజరై మీ అర్హతలు, సామర్థ్యాలను మీ గురించి ఇతర సమాచారాలను తెలియజెప్పుకునే ఒక మంచి అవకాశాన్ని మీరు చేజేతులా వదులుకుంటున్నారని దానర్థం. అలాంటి అవకాశం ఇవ్వకుండా అప్లికేషన్ స్థాయిలోనే కొన్ని జాగ్రత్తలు తీసుకుంటే మిమ్మల్ని మీరు ప్రూవ్ చేసుకుని మీరు కోరుకున్న ఉద్యోగం సంపాదించుకునే అవకాశాలు ఎక్కువగా ఉంటాయి. అలాంటి కొన్ని జాగ్రత్తలను చూద్దాం. - 1 మీరు అప్లై చేసే ఉద్యోగానికి సూట్ అయ్యేలా రెజ్యుమ్‌లో మీ వివరాలు పొందుపరచాలి. చాలాసార్లు Job Description కు రెజ్యుమ్‌లో మీరు పొందుపరచిన సమాచారానికి, మీ లక్ష్యాలకు పొంతన ఉండదు. అందుకే మీ రెజ్యుమ్ ఈ మూడింటిని అనుసంధానం చేస్తూ ప్రజెంట్ చేయండి. - 2 కొంతమంది రెజ్యుమ్ తయారు చేసేటపుడు ఇతర రెజ్యుమ్‌ల నుండి కొంత సమాచారం తీసుకుంటారు. ఇటువంటి రెజ్యుమ్‌లలో అర్థం కాని క్లిష్టమైన పెద్ద పెద్ద పదాలు 'జార్గాన్స్' వాడుతుంటారు. ఇలాంటి పదాలు వాడి వారికి చాలా నాలెడ్జ్ ఉందని తెలియజెప్పే ప్రయత్నం చేస్తారు. అయితే చాలా సందర్భాలలో మీరు వాడిన పదాలకు మీరు ప్రయత్నించే ఉద్యోగానికి ఎలాంటి పొంతనా ఉండదు. ఒకవేళ ఉన్నా మీరు వాటిని ఇంటర్వ్యూలో సరియైన పద్ధతిలో వ్యక్తం చేయలేరు. ఫలితంగా ఫెయిల్ అవుతారు. అందుకే సింపుల్‌గా ఉన్నా మీకు బాగా అర్థమయ్యే పదాలను నిత్య జీవితంలో మీరు ఎక్కువసార్లు వాడే పదాలనే రెజ్యుమ్‌లో వాడండి. ఏ విషయమైనా మైండ్ నుండి సహజంగా వచ్చినపుడే ఆ విషయం గురించి ఏ సందర్భంలో అయినా కాన్ఫిడెంట్‌గా మీరు మాట్లాడగలుగుతారు. అందుకే మీ రెజ్యుమ్‌ని మీ స్వంత పదాలతో తయారు చేయండి. - 3 మీరు ఈ ఉద్యోగాన్ని పొందడానికి చాలా సీరియస్‌గా ప్రయత్నిస్తున్నారన్న విషయం మీ రెజ్యుమ్‌లో తెలియజెయ్యండి. అంటే స్పెల్లింగులు, వ్యాకరణ దోషాలు లేకుండా జాగ్రత్తగా గమనించి రాయండి. ఉద్యోగంపై సీరియస్‌గా లేనివారు రెజ్యుమ్ లోని పొరబాట్లను గ్రహించరు. ఒకటి రెండు పొరబాట్లు చాలు అప్లికేషన్‌ను రిజక్ట్ చేయడానికి అని 76 శాతం మంది హెచ్.ఆర్. మేనేజర్‌లు ఒక సర్వేలో తెలియజేశారు. అందుకే రెజ్యుమ్ తయారు చేశాక ఒకటికి రెండు సార్లు మీరుగానీ మీ మిత్రులు గాని చెక్ చేసి ఇటువంటి చిన్న చిన్న పొరబాట్లు సరిచేసుకోండి. - 4 మీ వివరాలతో పాటు ప్రస్తు తం మీరు చేస్తున్న జాబ్ డిస్క్రిప్షన్ క్లుప్తంగా అర్థమయ్యేలా రాస్తే మీ రెజ్యుమ్ కు విలువ చేకూరుతుంది. చాలా మంది తాము రోజువారీ చేసే పనులనే ఒక జాబ్ డిస్క్రిప్షన్‌గా అప్లికేషన్‌లో రాస్తుంటారు. అది సరికాదు. మీరు ప్రస్తుతం పనిచేసే ఉద్యోగంలో మీరు సాధించిన విజయాలు స్పష్టంగా, క్లుప్తంగా రాయండి. అలాగే అప్లికేషన్‌లో తేదీలు, సంఖ్యాపరమైన వివరాలు తెలియజేయవలసి వచ్చినపుడు పొరబాట్లు లేకుండా చూడండి.వ్యక్తిగత సమచారం తెలియజేసేటపుడు మీ ఉద్యోగానికి సపోర్ట్ చేసే వ్యక్తిగత విషయాలను మాత్రమే తెలియజేయండి. కొంతమంది రెజ్యుమ్‌లను వ్యక్తిగత సమాచారంతో నింపే హాబీల పుస్తకంగా మార్చేస్తుంటారు. అంటే వారికున్న అన్ని హాబీలు అందులో రాసేస్తుంటారు. ఉదాహరణకు మీరు ఒక అకౌంటెంట్ ఉద్యోగానికి అప్లికేషన్ పెడితే మీకున్న అకౌంటింగ్ నాలెడ్జ్‌ని, కంప్యూటర్ నాలెడ్జ్‌ని తెలియజెప్పండి. అలాగే ఇతర రంగాలలో ఏవైనా చెప్పుకోదగ్గ విజయాలు సాధించి ఉంటే వాటిని తెలియజెప్పండి. ఇలా తెలియజెప్పడం వలన మీలో ఎలాంటి సామర్థ్యాలున్నాయో తెలుస్తాయి. అలా కాకుండా టీవి చూస్తుంటారనో, బ్రౌజింగ్, చాటింగ్ అంటే ఇష్టమనో తెలియజేయవలసిన అవసరం లేదు. - 5 మీ అప్లికేషన్‌ను వీలైనంత క్లుప్తంగా రెండు పేజీలకు మించకుండా తయారు చేయండి. పై జాగ్రత్తలు తీసుకోవ డంతో పాటు అప్లికేషన్‌ను మంచి లేఅవు ట్‌తో పదానికి, పదానికి మధ్య స్పేస్, మార్జిన్‌లు ఇచ్చి డిగ్నిఫైడ్‌గా ఉండే ఫాంట్‌తో ప్రెజెంట్ చేయండి. లెటర్ సైజ్‌ను 10-12 మధ్య ఫాంట్ ఉండేలా చూడండి. కొంతమంది కొన్నిచోట్ల చాలా పెద్ద సైజు లెటర్స్, కొన్ని చోట్ల చిన్న చిన్న లెటర్స్‌తో మరోచోట పద్ధతిలేని ఫాంట్‌లతో ప్రజెంట్ చేస్తుంటారు. ఇలా చేస్తే చదవడానికి ఇబ్బందిగా ఉంటుంది. మిమల్ని మీరు ప్రెజెంట్ చేసుకోవడానికి రెజ్యుమ్ ఒక గొప్ప సాధనం. ఆసాధనాన్ని మీరు సమర్థవంతంగా ఉపయోగించుకొని విజయం సాధించండి. - వ్యాసకర్త ః ప్రముఖ కార్పొరేట్ కంపెనీలో హెచ్.ఆర్ జాయింట్ జనరల్ మేనేజర్, కార్పొరేట్ ట్రైనర్.

కనీస ఇంగ్లిష్ చాలు ఎన్నో ఉద్యోగావకాశాలు

పేరుకే పరాయి భాష అయిన ఇంగ్లిష్ మన నిత్య కార్యకలాపాల్లో భాగంగా మారిపోయింది. ఇక ప్రైవేట్ జాబ్స్‌కు ఇంగ్లిష్ పరిజ్ఞానం ఎంతో అవసరం అవుతుంది. అయితే ఆ పరిజ్ఞానం ఏ మేరకు, ఏ విధంగా సంపాదించుకోవాలో తెలుసుకుందాం. 'ఇంగ్లీష్‌లో అనర్గళంగా మాట్లాడగలగాలి'.... ఉద్యోగ ప్రకటనల్లో తరచూ ఇది కనిపించేదే. ఏ స్థాయిలో ఉద్యోగాలు తీసుకున్నా, ఆంగ్లంలో బాగా మాట్లాడడం తప్పని సరి అయింది. అయితే చాలా మందికి, చేయాలనుకున్న ఉద్యోగం, అలాగే ఏ స్థాయిలో ఆంగ్లం రావాలన్న అంశంపై కనీసం అవగాహన ఉండటం లేదు. గ్రామర్ పూర్తిగా నేర్చుకుంటే, ఆంగ్లం వస్తుందన్న అపోహ చాలా మందిలో ఉంది. నిజానికి గ్రామర్‌కు పాఠశాల స్థాయిలో నేర్చుకున్న ఆంగ్లం సరిపోతుంది.  ఇంగ్లీష్ బాగా మాట్లాడాలంటే ఎక్కువ సంఖ్యలో పదాలు, సందర్భాని కనుగుణంగా మాట్లాడగలిగే నేర్పు, అవసరం. అయితే ఎంపిక చేసుకున్న ఉద్యోగంలో, తటస్థించే సందర్భాలకు, అవసరమైన మేర పదాలను తెలుసుకుంటే సరిపోతుంది. వాటిని ఉపయోగించే విధానంపై పట్టు సాధిస్తే, కోరుకున్న ఉద్యోగాన్ని సాధించవచ్చు. ఉద్యోగ అవకాశాల్లో భాగంగా, భిన్న రంగాలకు వెళుతున్న వారెందరో ఉంటారు. వారు ఏ ఉద్యోగాలకు దరఖాస్తు చేస్తున్నారో, దానికి సంబంధించిన ఆంగ్ల పరిజ్ఞానం పెంచుకుంటే సరిపోతుంది. సేల్స్ రంగం సేల్స్ రంగంలోకి వెళ్లాలనుకున్న వారికి, అనర్గళంగా మాట్లాడే నేర్పు తప్పదు. కేవలం ఇంగ్లీషే కాదు, తెలుగు లేదా మరే భాష అయినా సరే, ఈ ఉద్యోగాలను కోరుకునే వారు పదాల కోసం వెతుక్కోకూడదు. ఎదుటి మనిషిని కట్టిపడేసేలా మాటలను చెప్తూ ముందుకు వెళ్లాలి. అయితే పెద్ద సంస్థలు, లేదా వైద్య రంగానికి సంబంధించిన సంస్థలు ఆంగ్లం బాగా మాట్లాడగలిగే వారికి ప్రాధాన్యం ఇస్తాయి. ఈ రంగంలోకి వచ్చే వాళ్లు, హాజరవుతున్న సంస్థ కార్యకలాపాలకు సంబంధించి పదాలను ఉపయోగించాల్సి వస్తుంది. ఉదాహరణకు రియల్ ఎస్టేట్ రంగానికి సంబంధించిన సంస్థల్లోకి వెళితే.. 'బూమ్', డీడ్, వెంచర్... ఇలా అవసరం అయిన పదాల మేరకు తెలుసుకోవాలి. అదే మెడికల్ రిప్రెజెంటేటివ్‌గా వెళ్లాలనుకుంటే, వైద్య పరిభాషకు సంబంధించిన పదాలను తెలుసుకోవాలి. అంటే 'క్లాసిఫైడ్' వొకబులరీకి సంబంధించి పదాలను తెలుసుకోవాలి. సేల్స్ రంగలోనే, కొంతమంది, మార్కెటింగ్ కోసం బయ టకు వెళ్లకుండా షోరూంలోనే ఉంటారు. ఇలాంటి ఉద్యోగాలు చేస్తున్న వారు, అలాగే రిసెప్షనిస్ట్‌లు, ఆంగ్ల పదజాలంలో, మర్యాద పూర్వక పదాలను, ఇతరులను 'రిసీవ్' చేసుకునేందుకు అనువైన పదాలను, వాటి వాడకాన్ని తెలుసుకోవాలి. ఉదాహరణకు షోరూంలో సేల్స్ విభాగంలో పని చేస్తున్న ఉద్యోగి, వినియోగ దారులతో మాట్లాడుతున్న సందర్భంలో, కొత్తగా మరో వినియోగదారుడు వచ్చాడని భావిద్దాం, అయితే అప్పటికే వచ్చి ఉన్న వినియోగదారుడు వెళ్లక ముందే, కొత్తగా వచ్చిన వారిని మర్యాద పూర్వకంగా పిలిచి, వారిని కూర్చోబెట్టాలి, మంచి పదాలను ఉపయోగిస్తూ వాళ్లను కన్విన్స్ చేయాలి. Duration, Mode of fee payment...etc తదితర పదాలు తెలుసుకోవడం, ఆయా సందర్భాల ను వివరించగలగడం చేయాల్సి ఉంటుంది. ఇదే సాఫ్ట్‌వేర్ రంగంలో రిసెప్షనిస్ట్‌గా ఉంటే, ఆ సంస్థల్లో ఉపయోగించే పదాలు వేరుగా ఉంటాయి. వేల సంఖ్యలో ఉద్యోగులు, వాళ్ల కోసం వచ్చే పెద్ద స్థాయి మనుషులు, లేదా విదేశాల నుంచి వచ్చే క్లయింట్‌లు, లేదా వివిధ అవసరాల నిమిత్తం విదేశాల నుంచి ఫోన్ చేసే క్లయింట్‌లు ఉంటారు. వీరి భాషను అర్థం చేసుకొనే సామర్ధ్యం ఉండాలి. అలాగే విదేశీ కస్టమర్లతో మాట్లాడేప్పుడు, భారతీయ వినియోగదారులతో మాట్లాడినట్లు కాకుండా, భిన్నంగా మాట్లా డాల్సి ఉంటుంది. అందుకే సాఫ్ట్‌వేర్ రంగంలోకి వెళ్లే వాళ్లు 'యాక్సెంట్'పై కూడా పట్టు పెంచుకోవాల్సి ఉంటుంది. ఇంగ్లీష్ మాట్లాడడంలో భాగంగా ఉండే, ఫొనెటిక్స్‌ను కూడా నేర్చు కోవాలి. ఇంచుమించుగా, ఇలాంటి తరహా ఆంగ్ల భాష పరిజ్ఞానం టెలీకాలర్స్ ఉద్యోగాలు ఆశిస్తున్న వారికి కూడా అవసరమే. ఈ ఉద్యోగులు, నేరుగా వినియోగదారులను చూడరు. కేవలం వారితో ఫోన్‌లోనే మాట్లాడుతారు. అందుకే టెలీకాలర్స్ ఉద్యోగా ల్లోని వారు, మరింత మెరుగైన పదాలను ఎంచుకోవాలి. ఎందు కంటే, మంచి పదాలు విన్నప్పుడే, వినియోగ దారుడు వినేందుకు సిద్ధం అవుతాడు. కేవలం తొలి నాలుగు లేదా అయిదు పదాల ద్వారానే వారిని కట్టి పడేసేలా టెలీకాలర్స్ మాట్లాడగలగాలి. ఆ తరహా ఇంగ్లీష్ పదాలను తెలుసుకోవాల్సి ఉంటుంది. సమీకరణాల విశ్లేషణ ద్వారా సమస్యా సాధన ! సమీకరణాల సాధనలో 'డైఫంటైన్' సూచించిన అంశాలను ఆధారంగా చేసుకొని చిన్నచిన్న సమీకరణాలే కాదు, పెద్దపెద్ద సమీకరణాలను కూడా సాధించవచ్చు. మొదట పైపైన గమనిస్తే, సాధన కనుక్కోవటం దాదాపుగా అసాధ్యంగా కనిపించే సమీకరణాలు, కాస్త విశ్లేషణాత్మకంగా చూసినపుడు సులభంగా సాధించవచ్చు. అలాంటి ఉదాహరణ ఒకటి చూడండి. ప్ర : (x2+1) (y2+1)+2(x-y) (1-xy)=4 (1+xy) సమీకరణాన్ని సాధించండి. (x,y లు పూర్ణ సంఖ్యలు) జ :x,y లు అనేవి పూర్ణ సంఖ్యలుగా ఇచ్చారు. ఈ ఒక్క అంశం ఆధారంగా చేసుకొని సమీకరణ సాధనకు అవసరమయిన మార్గాన్ని తయారు చేసుకోవచ్చు. అదేలాగంటే పూర్ణ సంఖ్యను దేనిని తీసుకున్నప్పటికీ దానిని రెండు కారణాంకాల లబ్ధంగా రాయవచ్చు. ఉదాహరణకు 6 అనే సంఖ్యను తీసుకుంటే దానిని క్రింది విధంగా రాయవచ్చు. 6=3x2 =-3x-2 =6x1 =-6x-1 ఇలా 6ను రెండు సంఖ్యల లబ్ధంగా 4 రకాలుగా రాయవచ్చు. ఇపుడు ఇవ్వబడిన సమీకరణాన్ని గమనిద్దాం. (x2+1) (y2+1) +2 (x-y) (1-xy) = 4 (1+xy) దీనిని కారణాంకాల లబ్ధంగా రాయటానికి వీలుగా ఉండేలా మొదట మార్పు చేయాలి. క్రింది విధంగా మార్చి రాయటం వల్ల అది వీలవుతుంది. x2+y2+x2 x y2+1+ 2(x-y) (1-xy)= 4+4xy x2+y2+x2 x y2+1+2 (x-y) (1-xy)-4xy=4 ఇపుడు కుడివైపున 4 అనే పూర్ణ సంఖ్య ఉంది. దీనిని రెండు సంఖ్యల లబ్ధంగా రాయవచ్చు. అంటే ఎడమ వైపున కూడా అలాగే రాయటానికి ప్రయత్నించాలి. అది క్రింది విధంగా చేయవచ్చు. x2+y2+x2y2+1+ 2(x-y) (1-xy)-2xy-2xy-4 దీని నుంచి (x-y)2 మరియు (1-xy)2 స్వరూపాన్ని పొందవచ్చు. ఎందుకంటే (x-y)2= x2+y2-2xy (1-xy)2= 1+x2y2 - 2xy అవుతుంది. అందుచే x2+y2-2xy+1+x2y2=2xy+2(x-y) (1-xy)=4 అని రాయవచ్చు. అపుడది (x-y)2+ (1-xy)2+2 (x-y) (1-xy)=4 అవుతుంది. దీని నుంచి [(x-y)+ (1-xy)]2 =4 అని రాయవచ్చు. x-y, 1-xy లను వేర్వేరు పదాలుగా తీసుకోవచ్చు. అంటే (x-y)+(1-xy) ని కూడా రెండు కారణాంకాల లబ్ధంగా రాయవచ్చు. ఇది (1+x) (1-y) కి సమానమవుతుంది. అంటే సమీకరణం క్రింది విధంగా మారిపోతుంది. [(1+x) (1-y)]2=4, అంటే [(1+x) (1-y)]=+2 అవుతుంది. దీని నుంచి (1+x) (1-y)=2 మరియు (1+x) (1-y)=-2 గా రాయవచ్చు. ప్రతీ సందర్భంలోనూ 2 ను రెండు రకాలుగా కారణాంకాలుగా విభజించవచ్చు. అనగా (1+x) (1-y)=2x1 లేదా (1+x) (1-y)=2x-1 అని రాయవచ్చు. అంటే 1+x=2 మరియు 1-y=1 నుంచి x=1,y=0 గా సాధన వస్తుంది. అలాగాక (1+x) (1-y)=1x2 గా తీసుకున్నపుడు 1+x=1 మరియు 1-y=2 వల్ల x=0,y=-1 గా సాధన వస్తుంది. అంటే ఈ సందర్భంలో రెండు సందర్భాలలో రెండు రకాలుగా సాధనలు వస్తాయి. (x,y) = (1,0) లేదా (0,-1) లు సాధనలు అవుతాయి. అదే విధంగా +2ను 2x1 లేదా -2x-1 అని గానీ రాయవచ్చు. ఈ సందర్భంలోనూ పైన చెప్పినట్లుగా సాధన కనుక్కోవచ్చు. (1+x) (1-y)= -2x-1, దీని నుంచి 1+x=-2, 1-y=-1 అని రాయవచ్చు. అంటే x=-3, y=2 అవుతుంది. అదే విధంగా (1+x) (1-y)= -1x-2గా రాసినపుడు 1+x=-1 మరియు 1-y=-2 అని రాయవచ్చు. అపుడు x=-2,y=3 అవుతుంది. అంటే ఈ సందర్భంలోనూ రెండు సాధనలుంటాయని అర్థం. అంటే (x,y)= (-3,2) లేదా (-2,3) అవుతుంది. అదే విధంగా -2 ను తీసుకున్నప్పుడు 2x-1 లేదా -2x1 గా దానిని రెండు కారణాంకాలుగా విడదీసి రాయవచ్చు. ఇలా ఒకే సమీకరణం ఒకటి కంటే ఎక్కువ చరరాసులతో ఉండటమే గాక, ఒకటి కంటే ఎక్కువ సాధనలు కూడా కలిగి ఉండటాన్ని గమనించవచ్చు. - వ్యాసకర్త : గణిత శాస్త్ర నిపుణులు

 మనం సంఘజీవులం కనుక ఈ సంఘం గురించిన అన్ని విషయాలను కూలంకషంగా తెలిపే సాంఘిక శాస్త్రాన్ని తేలికగా అర్థం చేసుకోగలుగుతాం. మరి ఈ తేలికైన సబ్జెక్టులో ఎ+ గ్రేడు లేదా 100/100 మార్కులు వస్తున్నాయా? రాకపోతే ఏం చేయాలి? ఎలా చదవాలి? చాలా అంశాలు ఉండే ఈ శాస్త్రాన్ని ఎలా నేర్చుకోవాలి? జవాబులలో అన్ని పాయింట్లూ కవర్ అయ్యేలా ఎలా ప్రిపేర్ అవ్వాలి? మ్యాప్ పాయింటింగ్ వంటి ముఖ్యమైన ఏరియాను ఎలాంటి జాగ్రత్త్రలతో నేర్చుకోవాలి? ఇలాంటి అంశాలన్నింటిని ఇప్పుడు చూద్దాం. సమాజం అమరిక గమనించండి పిల్లలకు ఐదు సంవత్సరాల వయస్సు వచ్చేటప్పటికి సాంఘిక భావనలు అంకురిస్తాయని మానసిక శాస్త్రవేత్తలు తెలియజేశారు. సమాజాన్ని కుతూహలంగా గమనిస్తున్న ఆవయస్సులోనే వారికి అది ఎలా ఏర్పడిందో క్రమంగా వివరించాలి.ఆ ఏర్పాటులో తానూ భాగమేనన్న యదార్థం విద్యార్థి గమనించేలా మనం ప్రొత్సహించాలి. అదే విద్యార్థి 11 ఏళ్లు వచ్చేసరికి స్వతంత్ర నిర్ణయాలు తీసుకోవాలని ఆలోచిస్తాడు. మనం వారికి మంచి సాంఘిక వైఖరులను నేర్పించగలిగితే వారు తీసుకునే నిర్ణయాలు వారి స్వీయ అభివృద్దికీ, సమాజ శ్రేయస్సుకూ దోహదపడగలవని గమనించాలి. అంటే, సామాజిక విషయాలు తెలుసుకునే

బ్లడ్ క్యాన్సర్‌కి కొత్త పరీక్ష
